Food, drinks, and cake!
A powerful call to action for worker justice in Colorado
Bring your signs and your voice. Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come, and remind our elected officials that we’re not backing down.”

ACT FROM HOME AND TRAINING: Phone Bank Basics for Introverts & Newbies by Working Families Party, Thursdays 5pm mountain time - online
“Phonebank Basics for Introverts and Newbies will be a fun, interactive phonebanking basics info session to help YOU get comfortable with phonebanking. We will build community, train volunteers on the Scale to Win dialer, and spend time making calls to fellow WFP volunteers.
One-on-One conversations are proven to be the most effective way to increase voter turnout and enthusiasm, and phonebanking is the best way to reach voters remotely. If you’ve been wondering how you could do more to help fight for democracy, phonebanking is for you.
We will host these info sessions every week, often on Thursdays. If you’ve always wanted to phonebank because you know the impact it makes but have been too shy to try it out, this is the event for you!”

ACT FROM HOME: Protect Our Courts - ACLU - ASAP - online
“The House passed H.R. 1526, which limits judges’ ability to block the Trump administration’s unconstitutional actions nationwide.
This bill is a threat to the rule of law and endangers all of our rights — and shouldn’t go any further. Join us and urge your Senators to vote NO on limiting courts’ ability to check presidential abuses of power.”

ACT FROM HOME: Contact your US Representative to Protect Planned Parenthood - ASAP and Ongoing - online
“Last week, Speaker Mike Johnson stood in front of anti-abortion donors and said the quiet part out loud: he plans to defund Planned Parenthood.
This isn’t just talk. If they succeed, health centers could shut down—and millions of people could lose access to the care they rely on, from cancer screenings to birth control and STI treatment. For many, there’s nowhere else to go.
This is a calculated attack on women, LGBTQ+ people, and low-income communities—and we need to act now.” - Women’s March

ACT FROM HOME: Contact your US Senators to Stop this Voter Suppression Act - online, phone
“America may have a history of voter suppression, but that doesn’t mean we have to let it continue! It’s up to us to use our voices to speak out against restrictive voter laws and voter suppression tactics, and we have the opportunity to do that right now.
Earlier this month, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act. It’s an incredibly restrictive voter ID law that could keep tens of thousands of Americans — especially women — from voting.
The SAVE Act would require showing a passport or a birth certificate, in person, that matches our current last name to register to vote or to update our voter registration for any reason. Let’s be honest, how many women have one of those things handy? (Spoiler: 69 million married women don’t!) Not to mention, the bill would remove online and mail-in voter registration, making it harder for all first-time voters to register, even if they do have the required documents.”

READ THIS AND ACT FROM HOME: About HR867 - IGO Anti-Boycott Act - online, phone
“If you care about democracy, free speech, or the right to dissent — then you need to know about HR 867, the so-called “Countering Antisemitism Act.” Despite the name, this bill isn’t about protecting anyone from hate. It’s about criminalizing Americans for engaging in peaceful protest. Specifically, it seeks to impose up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine for participating in or supporting boycotts against the state of Israel if those boycotts are initiated by international bodies like the United Nations.
Let me be clear: this bill is one of the most grotesque attacks on the First Amendment in modern American history. And shockingly, it’s being supported not just by far-right Republicans — but by five Democrats as well. Let’s Address This.”

WATCH THIS: Spotting and Stopping Mis-information
“A hot-off-the-presses survey from YouGov and NewsGuard just reported that one third of Americans believed Russian disinformation when they were shown actual false claims that have been spreading on social media. Less than 1% — regardless of political party — were able to tell that all the claims they were shown were false!
Watch this quick, one minute video from the News Literacy Project about these troubling results and how we can improve our ability to spot this dangerous disinformation and keep it from spreading.”

WRITE A MOTHER’S DAY LETTER: When Did their Act of Love Change Everything for You? With Revolutionary Love Project
“Mother's Day is Sunday. To all who mother—may you take a moment to celebrate the ways you pour your body, breathe, and blood into your families and communities.
Your love is the fiercest form of love.
We believe mothering is a capacity that resides in each of us. It is not a biological destiny nor can it be confined to a sphere of life. Each of us has the ability to mother others and ourselves—to nurture, nourish, care, and set free.
At this moment, cruelty, disconnection, and authoritarian forces dominate our country. We need Mother-Love more than ever—a wellspring that never runs dry, that powers courage we did not know we had.
If we choose to love one another with a fraction of a wise mother’s love for her child, what might we accomplish? Love becomes revolutionary.
“Patriarchy has always seen love as women’s work, degraded and devalued labor,” says bell hooks. Yet love is our birthright.
So today, we invite you:
💌This Mother’s Day, write a Love Letter.
Honor someone in your life who mothers—a parent, aunt, caregiver, mentor, friend. When did their act of love change everything for you? Write them a letter. Print it out and hand deliver it them as a present.
If this time of year brings grief or anger, consider writing a letter to yourself to read at a time when you need it most. Ask: How do you mother yourself?
Let us harness the wisdom, energy, and magic of those who mother—and spread Mother-Love far and wide.
To love and be loved is our birthright.
Yours,
Valarie, Anusha, Harini, Ashley and all of us at the Revolutionary Love Project”
